Brookgreen Gardens is the most popular attraction on the island, offering a unique combination of art, nature, and history. Stroll through 9,000 acres of botanical gardens while viewing the country’s largest collection of American figurative sculptures.

Then head to the Lowcountry Zoo and visit the native animals being rehabilitated, including alligators, bald eagles, otters, foxes, white-tailed deer, and herons. Finally, discover the Lowcountry History of the area with a guided boat tour.

Explore 16,000 acres of history, ecology, and research at Hobcaw Barony. This property can only be explored with a guided tour that includes over 70 cultural sites. Visit the Discovery Center and learn about the tragic history of the colonial era and slavery that occurred here.
