What are Check-In / Check-Out Times?

Check-in is at 4:00 PM. While we try to go above and beyond to accommodate our guests, we cannot offer early check-ins or late departures. This is to allow our cleaning crews ample time to make sure your home is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before and after your stay. Parking in the accommodation driveway and/or unloading of personal items prior to 4PM is not permitted. Check-out time is 10:00 AM No late check-outs will be permitted.

What is your cancellation policy?

We highly recommend Travel Insurance to protect your vacation investment from unforeseen circumstances that may occur before, or even during, your scheduled trip.

Cancellations Without Travel Insurance

  • If BASK Away is able to rebook the property to another guest, a refund may be provided for the amount the property is re-rented, less the reservation fee.
  • If you must cancel your confirmed reservation, regardless of reasons, and the unit is not re-rented; you will forfeit any rental amount paid up to the date of cancellation.
  • All cancellation notices must be submitted via email to: [email protected]
  • Because our properties are individually owned, confirmed reservations are not transferable. Requesting transfer to another unit is a cancellation.

How much is Travel Insurance?

The travel insurance is optional and the cost is 7.95% of your total reservation and can be purchased up to your final rental payment. 

What does Travel Insurance Cover?

Travel insurance protects you against trip cancellations, interruptions and medical problems. BASK Away has partnered with Seaside Coastal Travel Insurance, Generali Global Assistance to bring you the most comprehensive vacation coverage in the industry. It offers you coverage if you have to cancel or interrupt your trip due to a number of covered reasons and would otherwise lose your prepaid trip costs.

Can I Heat The Pool?

Pools that offer pool heat can only be heated from April 1st – May 31st and September 1st – October 31st for an additional fee (pricing varies per home). During this period, pools cannot be heated when temperatures drop below 60 degrees, even at night. No exceptions.

What If I need Maintenance During my Stay?

*No refund or rate adjustment will be made for unforeseen failures such as the supply of electricity, water, pool filtration systems, air conditioning, telephone, television or cable service, appliances, etc.

What is the BASK Away Resort Bundle Policy? (not all homes offer a Resort Bundle)

If you ordered the BASK Away Resort Bundle with service, please see our policy below:


  • If you ordered the BASK Away Full-Service Resort Bundle, your beach chairs and umbrellas will be set up daily prior to 10 AM and taken down daily after 4 PM, Sunday – Friday, weather permitting. No service on Saturdays.
  • The BASK Away service is for the resort chair and umbrellas only. Guests are responsible for transporting the self-carry chairs and beach towels to and from the beach each day.
  • Your code for the bike locks will be 9999.


  • BASK Away reserves the right to delay setup, tear down early or cancel beach service in the event inclement weather occurs or is forecasted.
  • BASK Away reserves the right to close and/or remove umbrellas from service if weather or wind conditions are unfavorable.
  • BASK Away is unable to provide service outside the times designated for setup and tear down.
  • Hour to hour of 50% (or higher) chance of expected rain / storms all day
  • High winds

What to know about Service Animals?

BASK Away is committed to providing reasonable accommodation to guests with trained service dogs due to a disability. Service dogs that have been trained to work or perform tasks for individuals with disabilities are always welcome and are not subject to a pet fee. Service dogs must be housebroken, under the control of the guest at all times, and not left alone in the property. Please note that you are responsible for any damages caused by the service dog.

In instances when we have service dogs in a home that is not pet friendly, we will ask if you can you please answer the following questions:

  1. Do you require your service animal because of a disability?
  2. What work or task the service animal has been trained to perform?

Why should I rent a golf cart for my stay?

Easily transport beach equipment to the beach.

Cruise the main strips of Waccamaw, Ocean Blvd. and Atlantic Avenue between Garden City Beach, Murrells Inlet, & Surfside Beach.

Head to the local favorites in Garden City at the Marina: Gulf Stream Café and Marlin Quay.

Take the cart to Surfside: Neal and Pam’s, Gracias Pig, Pizza Hyena, Bubbas, Chimichanga llama, Scotty’s, Wooden Spoon, Benjamin’s & more.

Venture over to Atlantic Ave where you will find the arcade, ice cream, restaurants, grocery store, liquor store and the Village Surf Shoppe.

Go fishing at the Garden City or Surfside Beach Pier.
